AZAPAは今年で45回目の開催となるバンコク最大級のモーターショーであるBangkok International Motor Show 2024にこのたび初めて出展致します。
ASEAN第2位の経済規模を持つタイは古くから日系自動車メーカーとの繋がりが深く、現在同国の自動車産業は、メーカー、Tier1、Tier2、Tier3の各カテゴリを合わせると約1,800社規模でのサプライチェーンが構成されており、そのダイナミックな構造を活かして更なる成長が期待されております。
その一方で、中国系自動車メーカーによる本格進出、自動車生産台数領域でのインドネシアの猛追、EVインフラ整備の遅れなどの要素も顕在化しており、タイの自動車産業、ひいては長期に渡って同国と連携を構築してきた我が国の自動車産業にとってもある種の転換点を迎えているのが実状です。
そうした状況下、AZAPAではこれまでTier0.5の立ち位置にて日本の自動車産業の皆様と共に磨き、蓄積して参りましたR&D、システムデザイン、モデルベースを含めた開発ノウハウ、グローバルでの調達を含めたインテグレーション力を活用して、タイ、そして日本両国の自動車産業の更なる発展に貢献したく、今回のイベントへの出展を皮切りに同国でのビジネス開発に本格的に着手致します。
AZAPA will exhibit for the first time at the Bangkok International Motor Show 2024, which marks the 45th edition of the event, Bangkok’s largest motor show.
Thailand, with the second largest economy in ASEAN, has deep connections with Japanese automakers since ancient times. Currently, the country’s automotive industry consists of approximately 1,800 companies across various categories including manufacturers, Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3, forming a supply chain of considerable scale. The dynamic structure of this industry holds expectations for further growth.
However, factors such as the significant entry of Chinese automakers, Indonesia’s aggressive pursuit in automotive production volumes, and delays in EV infrastructure development, have become evident. This situation signifies a turning point for Thailand’s automotive industry, and consequently for the automotive industry of our country, which has been building cooperation with Thailand over the long term.
In this context, AZAPA has been honing and accumulating R&D, system design, and development expertise including model-based approaches in collaboration with Japan’s automotive industry players in its position equivalent to Tier 0.5. Leveraging integration capabilities, including global procurement, AZAPA aims to contribute to the further development of both Thai and Japanese automotive industries. Starting with participation in this event, AZAPA will earnestly embark on business development in Thailand.
